Baked brie recipe with plums

I love cheese, all kinds o it! One of my favourites is – baked brie recipe with plums. There are few great things about this recipe. It is not expensive, very easy to make and it makes a great dish like in a good restaurant. This baked brie recipe is not something new – I am sure you have already heard of it. But still – this recipe is different – it’s gluten free, grain free. Instead of the breadcrumbs, used for this recipe, we will use seeds. Baked brie is also often served with jam. But not this one! I’ve found out that is tastes the best with plum sauce, which makes this recipe also sugar-free! Plums are naturally sweet and sour which gives a great taste balance.

You can also bake or fry brie cheese, it is up to you. If you fry it, make sure to do that on medium heat, not too hot, because your seeds will burn and brie will not melt inside. Baking is more convenient. Try both methods and decide which one do you prefer.


Baked brie recipe with plums




2 brie cheese (one per person)

1 free range egg

1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds

1 tablespoon sunflower seeds

1 tablespoon sesame (white, black or mixed)

1 tablespoon bran (oat or other)

1 tablespoon  hemp


For sauce

6 large blue plums

Spices of your choice – cinnamon, cardamon, vanilla.




Beat up an egg using fork or whisk.

Put all the seeds to the food processor and grind them coarse.

Preheat the oven to 170º C. You can also fry brie on the pan, on medium heat with a few drops of oil or ghee.

Dip brie cheese in egg on both sides and then place to the grind seeds, same – on both sides. Repeat one more time – dip in the egg and to the seeds again.

Place on the tray ant put to the oven for 20-25 min or fry on the medium heat (not too hot!) on the pan with few drops of oil or ghee (for 5-8 minutes on the each side).

Meanwhile prepare the sauce. Take plums, remove pits, cut in small chunks ( or use food processor), take the small pan of saucepan and bring to boil. Remove from the stove. You can add spices if you like – cinnamon, cardamon, vanilla.
